This past Saturday, our string duet, specifically including violin and cello, performed at a wedding ceremony held at The Quarry located in Naples. This venue is truly a one of a kind location since it boasts the title of lakeside resort. Stone Lake, the focal point of the property, is 320 acres of picturesque water. The lake was created from the remains of an old limestone quarry; and hence the name of the club.
Our bride Patricia ended up with the following setlist for her ceremony:
La Rejouissance - Handel
Rondeau - Mouret
Hallelujah - Cohen
When I fall in Love - Heyman, Love
Air in D - Bach
Sunrise Sunset - Harnick,Bock
Seating of the Mothers:
You Raise Me Up - Groban
Canon in D - Pachelbel
A Thousand Years - Perri
Little Mermaid Medley - Ashman, Menken, Moore
Many congrats to the new bride and groom! Thank you for allowing us to share in your day.
Yesterday afternoon, we had the privilege of providing music for our first ceremony in Punta Gorda. The wedding took place at Ponce de Leon Park, a 10 acre stretch of wetland, mangrove forests and sweeping beaches showcasing Charlotte harbor, and of course named for the famous Spanish explorer who discovered the area back in 1513.
Lisa and Jay requested a solo cellist to serenade their special day. The cello is one of my favorite solo instruments simply because of its rich tones and lower pitch register.
The songs chosen were very classy and included the traditional Wedding March by Mendelssohn, All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera, and even Bach Suite No. 1 in G Major. The Bach Suite is so beautiful and is very well known to many ears even if one doesn't recognize the title. Many TV commercials for high end jewelry and watches have featured the piece.
Contemporary songs were also present during the prelude music as guests arrived. They include A Thousand Years by Christina Perri and You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban.
Thanks again to our bride and groom for letting us share in their wedding day memories.
This past weekend the cello and piano made an appearance for a wedding at the Riverside Community Center in downtown Fort Myers.
The ceremony was outside on the lawn within an naturally enclosed area surrounded with lush foliage and a beautiful treelike canopy adorned with babies' breath.
The bride chose to process and recess to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, arranged by The Piano Guys. The bridesmaids processed to Pachelbel's Canon in D.
This southern wedding was truly realized in the way each gentlemen wore a white cowboy hat, including the groom. The Riverside Community Center is literally right on the Caloosahatchee river in the heart of Fort Myers and is a beautiful venue to consider for an "Old Florida" style.
Congrats again to
Lillie and her new husband!
Our latest wedding featured ceremony music performed by a perfect recipe of instruments: piano and cello. This winning combination has become increasingly popular since the launch of The Piano Guys. This dynamic duet is made up of amazing musicians who are especially talented at arranging and performing covers of both popular tunes and timeless classics from the past.
When our bride Pam first contacted me, she already new exactly what she wanted played for her walk down the aisle, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. However, after watching a video clip online, she wanted the song played by a piano/cello duet. She simply fell in love with this particular arrangement of the song and sent me a link to it. I was so relieved as soon as I clicked the link and saw The Piano Guys. I happen to be a huge fan and I was confident that I could find a published score of this exact version of the song, which I did. All of their sheet music is on their website for purchase.
Of course, for those requests where there is no arrangement available, our musicians our skilled in formulating their own arrangements to fit the instrument-ensemble choices of our clients. It was very important for Pam to have an exact song version played. I was so happy to accommodate this request and hear from her post-wedding that everything sounded perfect!
