This past month I had the opportunity to perform for a different kind of wedding ceremony. It was another "first" for me since it was an official greek mass. The wedding was held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Myers. This is without a doubt the most traditional kind of wedding mass I have ever witnessed. It was refreshing to see so much attention and detail paid to the actual ceremony part of a wedding. The various rituals and readings were intriguing to watch and listen to. Here is an article that goes into detail about the various tradition behind a greek wedding ceremony.
The couple to be married chose piano to accentuate their ceremony. All the pieces were in the classical style except for the bridesmaids' processional which was All I Ask of You by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The bride processed to Pachelbel's Canon in D and exited to Beethoven's Ode to Joy.
Many congratulations and blessings to the newlyweds. Thanks for having me play a part in your special day.
