On November 21st, 2015 we were privileged to provide music for a destination wedding held on Marco Island. The bride and groom and their guests left their snowy, cold hometown of Chicago for the sunny warmth of Florida and the pretty Gulf of Mexico. There is really no better place for a tropical destination wedding than Southwest Florida. The ceremony began at San Marco Catholic Church at 2pm. This is definitely a most popular ceremony venue for Marco Island brides and grooms. It is both beautiful and conveniently located near the many different resorts which serve as reception sites. Our string quartet played for this part of the wedding festivities. Here is the ceremony playlist.
Viva la Vida by Coldplay
Hallelujah by Cohen
Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars
Can’t Help Falling in Love with You by Elvis
Stand by Me by Ben E. King
Grandparents/Parents Entrance Song:
La Rejouissance by Handel
Bridesmaids Entrance Song:
Jesu Joy of a Man’s Desiring by Bach
Brides Entrance Song:
Canon in D by Pachelbel
Hornpipe by Handel
The festivities continued at 5pm with a cocktail reception at The Marco Beach Ocean Resort. Although the cocktail hour was slated to be on the beach during sunset, it was moved inside due to some rainy weather. The bride Marissa and her groom booked our acoustic duet Barefoot Saturday for both their cocktail hour and during dinner. The cocktail hour was held in the pub and the dinner was located outside on the grand terrace.
Marissa requested fast, fun and upbeat songs to be played for the cocktail hour and slower, sentimental songs to be played at dinner. This was a really nice way to provide variety to the music selection.
She also requested two special songs to be played at dinner. The first song Like I'm Gonna Lose You by Meghan Trainor was a song that I have been meaning to add to our repertoire recently. I love this song and it was the perfect romantic, laid back tune for guests to listen to while they ate. The second song was another song we have never performed, Thank You for Loving Me by Bon Jovi.
Many congratulations again to Marissa and her new hubby! Thanks for letting us share in your special day!
