This past weekend myself on piano, and the string trio provided ceremony music for Victoria's wedding at The Club at the Strand in Naples, Florida. It was my first time performing at this venue and I was pleasantly surprised at how romantic and whimsical it was. The ceremony was set up outside in the back of the clubhouse on a sort of terrace. The area seemed like it was destined to be a backdrop for tying the knot. The dome enclosure around the stage with entry ramps on either side was surrounded by lush vegetation, tall palms and a beautifully trimmed hedge. What really captured my eyes was the grandiose entrance this venue gives a bride for her processional. The main steps split into two separate stair cases on the left and right leading to a winding pathway surrounding the fountain and then back into a main pathway. This is such a dramatic entrance.
Victoria's mom walked her down the aisle as we played Arrival of the Birds by the Cinematic Orchestra. This piece is so emotionally moving and fits the dramatic processional perfectly. The piece is known from its appearance in a nature film by Disney called The Crimson Wing - Mystery of the Flamingos. The bride has an extreme love for all things Disney and even chose two more pieces penned under its name: So This is Love from Cinderella and Kiss the Girl from The Little Mermaid. Victoria even had her officiant say " You may kiss the girl" after pronouncing them husband and wife. I just loved the creative ideas implemented for this wedding.
Congrats again to Victoria and her new hubby!
