This past weekend, my Mom and I had the honor of throwing my sister Kelly's bridal shower. Her wedding is next month at Cross Creek Ranch in Tampa, Florida, and we wanted the rustic, elegant themes of her wedding to be present for her shower.
The venue we picked was The Lodge at Lakes Park in Fort Myers, Fl. It is definitely a hidden gem among event venues. The property features a large screened in pavilion with high vaulted ceilings and beautiful wooden beams. It's location is a more private spot within the park and gives guests luscious views of surrounding lakes and gardens.
For the theme of the shower we determined to make it have an old time, feminine elegance while still incorporating a shabby chic, country vibe. This vision would not have been possible without Hollie at Sweet Southern Charm, a vintage rental company in Fort Myers.
I highly recommend this vendor for those brides who want decor that is unique and different without having to go find each element themselves. Sweet Southern Charm has it all! It was hard to not go absolutely nuts when visiting the showroom to pick out rental items. We ended up reserving mismatched china including silverware, tea cups, saucers, and salad plates, as well as mismatched vintage napkins in all white. For the center pieces we chose mason jars and old, hardback books bundled together in twine or burlap lace. The final touch for our decor rentals was wooden easel and chalkboard frame in antique white.
And now I bet you're wondering who provided the gorgeous pink rose cake at the top of this blog post? That would be Donna at Show Me Love Cake Pops & Confections. To say that this cake was delicious would be an unbelievable understatement. It was so fantastic and fresh, baked just the day before and hand delivered by Donna herself. She also made us two dozen of her famous cake pops, and I just have to say with all honesty that I have never tasted a cake pop that was that amazing in my entire life.
So there you have it! Hopefully this post inspires you or your friends in any shower planning in the near future.
